On the evening of March 1st, 2021, I had the pleasure and honor of visiting the gallery of my friend and brother, the great artist Mr. Mohammed Alajlan who’s the owner of the art gallery (Alajlan Art Gallery). We had a long interesting conversation about his art history and career, we also discussed the obstacles that may face fine art both locally and regionally. He generously reviewed his private artworks and allow me to take photos of them.

The gallery was founded by Mr. Mohammed Alajlan and managed by his children a couple years ago. It is in Riyadh where he presents samples of his creative artistic works which he chose to call (The Palm Trees Dates of Najd) to reflect the finesse of what his work resembles. Although Mohammed Alajlan did not visit many calligraphy art exhibitions but still, he has had certain characteristics that strongly contributed to his unique taste in art, making him able to achieve successful calligraphy art works that no other artists could ever compete with his creativity and talent."

That is written and published by one of the fine arts critics. Truth to be said, I was amazed at what I saw when I first visited the gallery which was much like a museum displaying breathtaking precious stones and sparkling pearls I have ever seen before that evening. It is worthy to mention that I’ve been to many international art exhibitions such as, Hermitage museum in Petersburg, Louvre Paris, metropolitan and the Modern Museum of Art in N.W.C yet none of them were comparable to what I have seen in Alajlan’s artworks.

The uniqueness of Alajlan’s art lies in the way it is formed and the special skills he’s got, reflecting its genuineness which derives from his pure and honest self, making his art purer and honest with society.

True artists create their artwork without barriers or limitations, they do not depend on artistry or surrealist tricks which are used by some contemporary artists, instead, they paint with such purity and transparency using the available colors to translate what they deeply feel and think without any fear or shame, they paint with unprecedented credibility and audacity without any preconditions of what they intend to paint.

Although the field of art calligraphy and Arabic Letter Art are common in use nowadays among the contemporary and first-generation artists of Fine Art, we see that the artist Mohammed Alajlan took a different approach in his presentation, expression and use of the letter and word in his artwork in such a way that the painting speaks with visual eloquence with all the eloquence and uniqueness of the like."
